Florence.

We've been wanting to take a trip to Italy all year. So it takes some envy swallowing to fully appreciate these photo's RYAN put up from his and Simon's first couple of days in FLORENCE! It looks absolutely amazing, and the best of all worlds.

European Fields.

{If you paid close attention to the previous post, you will have spotted a peek. Anyway to celebrate the opening day of the World Cup today, I thought I'd post up some images from HANS VAN DER MEER's amazing book EUROPEAN FIELDS - The Landscape of Lower League Football. Which is basically the polar opposite to the style, flair, and money of the World Cup tournament. It's not a new release either, but one I had always wanted a copy of, and I was lucky enough to stumble on a great condition, second hand, version at MAST. Which incidentally is New York's best new thing to happen in the East Village since ED VARIE.

Fact.

Anyway, both opening games ended in draws, so here's hoping England don't blow it tomorrow and instead start things off right. I may yet learn to love Wayne Rooney. I do like him more with THE BEARD though. No homo}

The Stockroom

{So I meant to do this much earlier in the week, but time got away from me, and now it's Sunday. Regardless: The Boys just recently opened up the first brick & mortar Stockroom, in Vancouver. The space doubles as the magazine office too, and is light, well designed and simply merchandised. It looks amazing. Although I've not been there, hearing about it, and seeing it grow stage by stage has been a pleasure to experience. If you live up that way stop in, if you don't: There's still THIS}

Saluta La Dia

Saluta La Dia
by
Mark Borthwick

{Every time I think that I have seen everything from him, or that I couldn't be more excited by any of his work, he puts together something new. Something familiar too I suppose, but always with a new element added or a new touch here and there. Italy is far away. Hopefully a new show in New York will happen sooner rather than later. I always feel better for having seen his work up close, in the flesh; walking amongst the photos, and the plants, and the small pieces of his life he brings with him, and arranges around the show}
