European Fields.

{If you paid close attention to the previous post, you will have spotted a peek. Anyway to celebrate the opening day of the World Cup today, I thought I'd post up some images from HANS VAN DER MEER's amazing book EUROPEAN FIELDS - The Landscape of Lower League Football. Which is basically the polar opposite to the style, flair, and money of the World Cup tournament. It's not a new release either, but one I had always wanted a copy of, and I was lucky enough to stumble on a great condition, second hand, version at MAST. Which incidentally is New York's best new thing to happen in the East Village since ED VARIE.

Fact.

Anyway, both opening games ended in draws, so here's hoping England don't blow it tomorrow and instead start things off right. I may yet learn to love Wayne Rooney. I do like him more with THE BEARD though. No homo}
